How does this function?
As of now, The Blue Yonder operates in the southern state of Kerala and in the north east of India, Sikkim. Our guests mostly come from France, UK, Germany, Switzerland and more recently from the Netherlands, Italy and USA, which are all evolving markets in responsible tourism. Most of our guests reach us through our websites, our travel partners in their country of origin and from those contacts we have made whilst attending travel road shows in Europe (mainly the UK, Germany and France). The majority of these are FITs, families and very small groups who are keen to learn about the culture and wilderness of the destinations whilst looking for an opportunity to mingle and interact with local people so that they can gain an insight into their society.

Our holidays are prepared after several rounds of discussions with our guests, which basically rules out a fixed package for any destination. As most of the enquiries we get are from people who prefer to travel responsibly in destinations, they also demand properties that follow responsible tourism policies.

Once a property becomes a declared associate of The Blue Yonder, (The Blue Yonder Associates), the property will be listed on our websites (
www.theblueyonder.com and www.theblueyonderassociates.com ) based on destinations and categories they belong to (e.g. Wayanad, Kumarakom…and also Hotel, Resorts, Home Stays and House Boats). This gives our guests an opportunity (as well as anyone else looking for properties on our site) to choose where they want to stay based on their requirements and budget and of course on the policies you follow to ensure your property is a responsible one.

When a guest contacts you directly with a reference to our website, we expect you to pay us an “honest commission”, which is based on trust. You normally would be paying 10-15-20% TAC to many of your travel agents for providing you with the business. With us you would pay only 5% of the booking price.
