Frequently Asked Questions                                         1|2|3

What are the payment rates?

To become a member, you must pay an annual subscription fee of Rs 5,000, which is to be renewed annually. In addition, for every reservation you receive with a reference from The Blue Yonder Associates, you will pay us an “honest commission” of 5% of the total booking fee. As the regular Travel Agent’s Commissions (TAC) ranges from 15-20%, this is a small amount to pay for joining the club of Responsible Tourism

 What is an honest commission?

Honest commission is based on mutual trust. When guests contact you directly with a reference to The Blue Yonder Associates, we expect you to pay us 5% of the total booking fee. All the members in the Association run their businesses in a responsible way and we believe that we should continue to do this in terms of acknowledging the source of business as well. The Blue Yonder Associates is not a travel agent. When your guests acknowledge The Blue Yonder Associates whilst confirming the booking, we expect you to pay us 5% commission of the total price.

When guests learn about your property through our websites, we will provide them with a direct link to your website together with contact numbers and emails that you provided. If you take a booking for a guest through a travel agent, you are usually paying anything between 10-20% on your rack rate.  However, by adopting this method you are avoiding the middleman and are interacting directly with your guests from the initial stage of enquiry.

How does The Blue Yonder Associates know that a property has taken the booking based on references from The Blue Yonder Associate website?

That’s precisely the reason why we call the commission an ‘honest’ commission. We do not intend to monitor if the booking you have taken was via guests who used our site as reference. However, we do expect you to let us know whenever you take a booking with a reference to The Blue Yonder Associates, as this will help us to keep track of the business we have generated for you.  You will then be invoiced on a monthly basis and payment should be made by the end of each month.

As most of our guests approach us because they wish to take part in responsible holidaying; they are honest and will let us know if they have used our website to book your property.

Do the guests also pay a commission to you for your service?
No, the guests pay only you for their booking.

Is the commission the same for The Blue Yonder and The Blue Yonder Associates?
No. You pay an honest commission of 5% to The Blue Yonder Associates if the booking comes via a guest who uses the Associates site as a reference. This is a direct business transaction between you and the guests.

If the booking comes from The Blue Yonder, it is based on what you pay regularly as the industry standard for Travel Agents Commission.

How are we going to be represented on your website?

You will be provided with a well-designed webpage for your property that gives a description of your property, its facilities and specializations along with the declared responsible tourism policies.
